Quaker State adds Q HorsePowerä Full Synthetic Motor Oil to Help Maximize Horsepower Text & photo sourced from Quaker State: Q HorsePowerä Full Synthetic motor oil is the latest generation of the heat-activated Q® motor oil line introduced in 2004 designed to maximize power in a vehicle’s engine. Horsepower can be defined as the ability of an engine to perform work over a given period of time; the resulting rating varies with engine speed and is indicative of an engine’s peak performance. There are many factors that contribute to a measurement of horsepower; friction and higher levels of oil viscosity have the potential to rob an engine of its usable horsepower, limiting output. To fight power-loss the heat-activated formula in Q helps to minimize the friction in an engine, helping motorists maximize horsepower from their engines. In addition to helping maximize engine power, Q HorsePowerä Full Synthetic motor oil provides outstanding protection against friction and exceptional resistance to thermal breakdown. The heat-activated molecules in Q HorsePowerä are optimized to be triggered as temperatures increase, creating a low-friction, ultra-heat resistant lubrication film. This heat activated technology was identified by the same team who created the championship winning Q Racing oil formula for the engines of Hendrick Motorsports, including the formula that helped power Jimmie Johnson to the 2006 NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship. The new Q HorsePowerä Full Synthetic motor oil will be available at installer and retailer locations starting in September of 2007. The motor oil is available in SAE viscosity grades 10W-30, 5W-50, 5W-30 and 5W-20, and meets the advanced performance specifications of North American, Asian and European manufacturer standards. (SAE 5W-40 and 10W-60 viscosity grades are available through Ferrari North America or Maserati in North American dealerships).
Fix-A-Flat Offers Peace of Mind against Flat Tires
An emergency tire inflator/sealant will allow you to temporarily repair the flat tire without even having to remove it. However, it’s becoming increasingly important to consider whether your product of choice is compatible with the tire pressure monitoring sensors (TPMS) that are being installed on many new cars. Fix-a-Flat, the most trusted commercially-available emergency tire inflator and sealant, has been proven compatible for use in vehicles with TPMS systems. Through comprehensive testing, Shell’s scientists have determined that Fix-a-Flat will not damage sensitive TPMS units, nor will it damage tires or wheels. Made from the most environmentally-friendly, non-flammable substances possible, Fix-a-Flat is water soluble and residue is easily removed from wheels and tires with a rag and water – no chemicals or tire grinders are required. Removing sealant from in and around the TPMS unit is an equally simple task; a blast of compressed air can be used if necessary. While most TPMS units are not affected by Fix-a-Flat, some models require some time to reset and begin working normally again after being cleaned. Fix-a-Flat requires no jacks or tools to use. Simply connect the canister to the tire valve and inflate the tire, and Fix-a-Flat’s non-flammable, proprietary rubber compound provides an emergency seal on contact with the inside of the tire. Fix-a-Flat will work whether the tire is completely flat or not; after filling a damaged tire, fill it with the proper amount of air pressure at the first opportunity. Fix-a-Flat is not a permanent fix, but a damaged tire that has been sealed with Fix-a-Flat can be repaired; simply advise the tire technician that the product has been used so that they may clean the tire appropriately before making the repair as the area around the puncture should be clean and dry before patching. Spills can be cleaned up with a rag (though soap and water is preferable) while the product is still in its liquid state. Once dried, it can be removed using odorless mineral spirits. Fix-a-Flat is available in a 16 oz. can with an easy to use hose, for mid-size cars. For more information on Fix-a-Flat, call the technical service hotline at 1-800458-4998.
Enhance winter driving safety with Pennzoil-Quaker's new Rain-X® Latitude wiper blades
Text sourced from Pennzoil-Quaker State Canada
Inc.: Rain-X® Latitude™ wiper blades are designed with a new curved-blade technology and low profile, aerodynamic frame with built-in spoiler to prevent wind lift, reduce drag and noise. Because the frame is encased in rubber, exposed metal components are eliminated – and so is ice and snow build-up. This feature also increases wiper blade flexibility and adherence, so the wiper blade hugs the windshield, even in harsh winter conditions. Rain-X® Latitude™ wiper blades consistently deliver a smooth, clean, chatter-free wipe through its contoured design, that applies even pressure along the entire blade length. They are made with chloroprene rubber, which is harder, stronger, more durable and more thermal resistant than natural rubber. The blade is also graphite-coated to reduce friction and increase adhesion to the windshield. Rain-X® Latitude™ wiper blades are the clear choice for Canadian winters! As part of your regular vehicle maintenance, take a few minutes to inspect your wiper blades; this is especially important during winter weather, when storms have a major impact on driving visibility. Rain-X® suggests that the best rule of thumb is to check your wiper blades every time you clean the windshield. Simply run your thumb along the rubber blades and if they’re worn, pitted or hardened, it’s time for a change. You can also tell if you need new wiper blades if your wiper blades smear, streak, screech or chatter when in use. Visit www.pennzoil-quakerstate.com for further information.

Quaker State® introduces Q line of high performance motor oils
The entire Q line of advanced-performance, full based synthetic and synthetic blend motor oils, features a revolutionary new heat-activated technology engineered to reduce friction and maximize power. As temperatures increase, proprietary heat-activated molecules are activated to create a low-friction, ultra-heat resistant lubrication film. Under heavy loads or high rpm conditions, this protective layer helps control power-robbing friction, prevent oil shearing and resist thermal and viscosity breakdown. The heat-activated performance of the additives in Q reduces friction at high temperatures better than motor oils meeting today’s ILSAC and API standards. An entire battery of industry tests, including Sequence IVA cam wear, double-length Sequence IIIF oxidation and DIN shear stability, provides testimony to the outstanding performance of the Q line of motor oils. Compared to conventional motor oils, Q provides exceptional resistance to thermal and viscosity breakdown, better protection against harmful deposits and acids, and excellent low-temperature lubrication. Additionally, Q surpasses the demands of GF-4 / SM with test results that meet or exceed the new industry standards and emissions system protection requirements. "As auto makers and motorists continue to demand more from their vehicles’ engines, Quaker State remains committed offering innovative new products that offer consumers proof of performance," says Mark Reed, director of marketing for Quaker State Canada. "Q is a breakthrough line of products that delivers technologically advanced offerings to the auto enthusiast – those who need to know their motor oil is going to work when they push it to deliver maximum horsepower." Quaker State’s Q line of performance products features a family of specialty motor oils that have been customized for specific engines and driving needs. The line will include three new motor oils: 4x4 and SUV Synthetic Blend; High RPM Synthetic Blend and Advanced Engine Full Synthetic. These premium performing lubes cover just about every possible application for the enthusiast and general consumer. Q 4x4 and SUV Synthetic Blend Hard working SUVs and trucks have to perform on demand. The Q 4x4 and SUV Synthetic Blend is specially formulated to maximize performance and power of hard working engines by unleashing heat-activated additives to provide a low friction, heat resistant lubrication film. This film combats oil oxidation and resists viscosity and thermal breakdown under heavy loads. The Q 4x4 and SUV Synthetic Blend is available in ILSAC GF-4 grades including SAE 5W-20, 5W-30 and 10W-30 and SAE 15W-40, specially formulated for diesel applications. Q High RPM Synthetic Blend Muscular V-8 or turbo power 4-cylinder engines generate more heat and high rpms that can rob an engine of power and wear down conventional oils. The Q High RPM Synthetic Blend is specially formulated to maximize the performance and power of a high output engine. As rpms run high, the heat-activated additives are released providing a low-friction, heat resistant lubrication film. This advanced protective film helps reduce the co-efficient of friction, preventing oil shearing and resisting thermal breakdown even under high rpm conditions. The Q High RPM Synthetic Blend is available in ILSAC GF-4 grades including SAE 5W-30 and 10W-30. Q Advanced Engine Full Synthetic Today’s technologically advanced engines generate more power per displacement than ever before, and that means more heat. This heat, combined with the shearing forces of high rpms and friction, can rob the engine of power. The new Q Advanced Engine Full Synthetic with unique heat-activated additives is specially formulated to maximize the performance and power of today’s modern engines. When friction and heat are most severe, the heat-activated molecules in Q are unleashed to provide a low-friction, ultra-heat resistant lubrication film that results in maximum protection and power. Q Advanced Engine Full Synthetic is available in SAE 5W-20, 5W-30, 10W-30, 5W-50 grades and a European Formulation designed specifically for vehicles with extreme lubrication requirements. The new Q line of motor oils will be available at installer and retailer locations starting in April 2005. For more information, please visit www.quakerstate.com.
